The Irk of life...
So far, today hasn't been promising. I went to school and took a history test that I'm almost completely sure I failed. After I finished the part 2 essay, I rechecked the question and I realized I had gone a bit off topic. I was annoyed and aggravated by then so I turned in my test and walked out. I really want to do well, but days like these really throw off my groove of things( Do I have a groove?). When my grandpa came to pick me up, we had a conversation about women directors and how not one has ever as won an Oscar. He started joking about me winning my first Oscar in acting and then the second in directing, and told me I should start preparing my speech. He's such a great person and so positive. I didn't have the heart to tell him about the test. When I got home I was depressed and just laid in bed for awhile and surfed the internet. I found a new band by accident which is exciting and made me a little happier. Then I decided to go on a bike ride. It was refreshing and wonderful, and it was nice to be outside. I had some adventure music playing, and some oldies. I rode through an area where the grass is overgrown, and there are giant hills of sand. It was pretty fantastic, and the music even picked up when I would come up to an amazing area of land. I rode farther than I had ever gone by bike and in those areas, the music seemed to change with my emotion, or maybe I changed with the music. Either way I feel much better than I did before.

Movie of the Week: The Fifth Element
Directed by Luc Besson
Written by Luc Besson
Released: 1997
Quote: DJ Ruby Rhod:"What's wrong with you? What you screamin' for? Every 5 minutes there's somethin', a bomb, or somethin'. I'm leavin'.bzzzz."
This movie is a delightfully futuristic view of the world of tomorrow. The first time I watched this movie I loved it; not exactly sure why. It might be the sci-fi genre that mixes in crazy action scenes, cut into an alien singing a techno opera while earth is spinning in all its glory in the back round. Spaceships and people saving the the world always make a movie more interesting too. WATCH IT! I think I might go watch it right now.

Barilla!
When I got home today, I poured myself a Barilla jar of orange juice(yes, my family and I sometimes drink from washed out Barilla sauce jars or Mason jars) and went into my room. I sat on my floor and checked my email on my laptop, and my eyes drifted towards the orange juice-filled jar. I had seen before lots of different little ways to use Mason jars and I was in a crafty mood. I pulled out a ball of hemp that I had, a glue gun and some seashells that I had stashed away.

I loaded the glue gun and plugged it in, and went searching for scissors while the glue gun heated up. I ended up only finding my pocket knife, but it would suffice. When the glue gun was ready, I took the Barilla jar and glued about half way around the the rim and then laid the hemp over the glue and pressed down for a few seconds. I started wrapping the hemp all around the jar after I'd glue a line down first. So it was a pattern of glue, hemp, press, glue, hemp, press until I was near the middle. I wanted the logo to be seen so I cut (with my handy pocket knife) off the end and glued it down. I started the process once more at the bottom of the Barilla logo and cut and glued it off at the bottom. I was rather satisfied with just this but I liked the idea of embellishing it with shells. I poured my bag of shells out and went through all of them until I found some that I wanted and took some time to arrange them how I wanted. The result was a decorated Barilla jar that can be used for flowers or candles. I'm giving it to my mother, so I've already put some water and flowers in there for her.

I am quite satisfied with it. Oh! and there's my puppy. :)

Movie of the Week: The Fall
Directed by Tarsem Singh
Written by Dan Gilroy, Nico Sultanikis and Tarsem Singh
Released: 2006
Quote: Alexandria:"You always stop at the same part, when it's beautiful. Interesting."
I was introduced to this movie maybe a year or two after it came out. I hadn't heard anything about it but my brother told me it was supposed to have fantastic cinematography with an equally fantastic soundtrack. I watched it and fell in love with the movie. It's heartfelt, adventurous and an absolutely beautiful piece of film. WATCH IT! The first scene itself is breathtaking.

Valentine's Day...
So today is Valentine's Day. It doesn't really mean a difference in my schedule but holidays are always nice. Today I went with a couple old friends and my brother to see The Wolfman. It was a lot better than I thought it would be so you might want to check it out. I also watched the movies Giallo and Rosemary's Baby. Three movies today. : ) I feel strange though. I don't know if that means I should watch another movie or not. Three is a blessing since I'm terribly busy during the week. I have time for more, but I'm not sure if it's what I need right now. Maybe I'm just being silly. Well I can tell my crazy lady about it. Maybe she can make some sense of it, not that she usually does, just that you never know with people; they can surprise you.

Radiology and free food...
So today I visited with my grandfather two different hospitals to get some inside information on radiology and what schools around our area seem to prepare students the best for their future career. My aunt is planning on going back to school, so we decided to go and see the actual people at work. We met two radiologists and a student and ate at the hospital for free...by accident. My grandpa leaned over to me and told me, "Hey! food at hospitals is cheap! Lets eat here!" I tried to talk him out of it but failed which isn't surprising if you know him. We got our food with other doctors, nurses, students and patients which consisted of a salad and french onion soup for him, and egg salad and noodles with french onion soup for me. We went to go pay but they only took cash. My grandpa only had his debit card and he kept saying Oh My God, I'm sorry I have to pay you, but the woman just said not to worry about it and to pay next time (because we go there so often...hehe) and we thanked her and sat down. My grandpa looked up at me with a sneaky look and said, "Hey, we're eating for free." It made me giggle. My grandma called him later and he told her the story. She said that he was corrupting me which made us both laugh. I told him if it wasn't for him that I wouldn't ever have any fun.

Blood Drive...
So today after my first class, I headed to the blood drive bus to meet my friend. When I got there, I saw that she had already started, so I hurried with the paper work and iron tests and blood pressure and temperature tests. I was in a hurry mainly because I had a class at 1:00 P.M. which gave me about an hour, but it started getting busy. I sat in one of the big recliner chairs and she hooked me up quick and got the blood flowing! She gave me a little squishy shoe to hold and release every 5 to 10 seconds. Now I normally am calm and relaxed when doing this, but I was so worried about being late that I squeezed that shoe like it was my job and the bag filled quick. I would like to say that I do find it important to give blood, and I do when I can because I was told that my blood is used for babies because it is compatible with them. I'm saving babies!!! So the woman wrapped me up and let me go, but on the way out I started to feel dizzy and white speckles surrounded my peripheral vision. My friend asked if I was okay, and I sat down and said that I didn't think so. She handed me a juice and everything started turning more and more white and the sounds in the room became quiet. She became worried and told me to start naming my brothers and I said in which order and she said youngest to oldest. I said the first ones name, and then she asked for the second. At that point, I had a dream about my second oldest brother. We were talking about something, but I can't remember what. I woke up suddenly and two women from the blood bus and my friend were staring at me, all asking me if I could hear or see them. I thought I had still been sitting in the chair, so I was wondering how everyone was looking down at me. But then I realized I was on the floor! They covered me with an ice pack on the chest and one around my neck and sat me up. I felt fine at that point but they decided to keep me for 10 more minutes, which consisted of drinking liquids, eating two cookies, talking to them about what happened, and having my blood pressure taken 5 times. They finally let me go and I ended up being able to take my test later. I still feel a little dizzy and if my head could make noises it would be going WHOOSH! YAY! I SAVED SOME BABIES!

What if I Stumble!
Stumble Upon is probably one of the neatest little random search apps you can get on Firefox. I've had it for quite some time now, but I owe it so much. I've found the most interesting articles, amazing photography, and lots of other little things just clicking the button over and over again. I've also found some really strange things like THIS but it mostly just makes me laugh. Click that link and play some music in the backround! OH! and there is going to be a second movie of the week because I missed last weeks.
SECOND Movie of the Week: Trainspotting
Directed by Danny Boyle
Written by Irvine Welsh (novel) and John Hodge (screenplay)
Released: 1996
Quote: Sick Boy:"Personality, I mean that's what counts right? That's what keeps a relationship going through the years. Like heroin, I mean heroin's got a great f****** personality.
In memory of Miramax, I have picked this movie,
1) because I find it to be a brilliant piece of work in its own drug induced way, and 2) because I believe many of the scenes including, the "worst bathroom in Scotland" scene, and the "getting clean" scene in the main characters room, to be, well special because they fascinated me while making me squeemish at the same time, which is quite a task in itself. The movie depicts a serious issue(drugs) and elaborates on the personalities of those who are addicted to them while having a good laugh. It's quite a piece of work, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. WATCH IT! Learn why your mother told you to stay away from drugs!!!

Movie of the Week: Rec
Directed by Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza
Written by Jaume Balaguero, Luis Berdeja and Paco Plaza
Released: 2007
Quote: Angela:"We have to tape everything, Pablo. For f**** sake.
OMG! Alright...I watched this movie this weekend because I had read some reviews and it seemed like a little movie that not many people had seen or heard of. It was released in Spain so for English only speakers, put on those subtitles! The acting is fantastic, and the camera work gives the movie great character; much better than the amateur work in Cloverfield. Another version of the movie called "Quarantine"was released in 2008 in America but it doesn't seem like anything special although I have not seen it myself. This movie though is great for scary movie bonanzas!WATCH IT! It's an exciting and a refreshing way to watch a movie without getting a headache.

Richard Small and the Super Bowl...
SUPERBOWL! I am watching it this year even though my favorite teams are not part of it. YAY! COMMERCIALS! My friend sent me a link to a page of old Super Bowl commercials and HERE it is. Earlier today and yesterday, my brother and his friend and I decided to film and edit random videos. We started a spoof 70's show starring Richard Small! I can't link you to it for certain reasons, but it's pretty amazing.

Busy busy...
I haven't updated in quite some time and I'm a little mad at myself for it, but I've been very busy. School work piled on last week, and Monday night I even had a long study session with a friend of mine over Skype. This weekend I have to write a paper and finish some online review too. Hopefully at some point I'll have time again to put more updates up. I even missed "Movie of the Week", which is sad because everyone needs a good movie to watch if they have the time. I suppose I'll do two "Movies of the Week" next week, maybe even post one Sunday, but I'm not sure. I found a new band last night and that is exciting because I love new music! The same friend that helped me study also introduced me to a band and I haven't been able to go a day without listening to this one song of theirs since he showed me. It's just a great song. I don't have a favorite song myself, but I'd like to know what yours is if you have one. You can comment right on here if you'd like. I'd like to see what people's favorite type of music is.
